	FIRE PLAN FIRE ESCAPE PLAN At first warning, either by a call of “fire” or by the smoke alarm sounding we will stop what we are doing and leave the premises promptly without stopping to collect belongings. I have a record of all children on the premises at any time, in easy reach by the front door, and will take it with me, as I leave to ensure all children are out and safe. We will leave by the front, back or patio doors whichever is nearest. I will practice this occasionally. Immediately on evacuating the premises I will call the emergency services from a neighbour's house. I will wait at a safe distance from the house on the front drive. I will contact the parents as soon as possible.

	FIRE PREVENTION There are 4 smoke alarms in my home, these are tested weekly and the batteries replaced when necessary.

	I have a fireguard, which is securely fixed to the wall. We are a non-smoking household and all matches are in a high place in the kitchen. My fire exits are the front door back door and back room patio doors these are never obstructed. I have a fire blanket and fire extinguisher in the kitchen within easy reach.

	BURN /SCALD PREVENTION Hot drinks are always placed high and never in children's reach.

		Children do not have access to the kitchen when the cooker is in use. I do not iron, barbecue or otherwise put the safety of children at risk while they are in my care.
